Your Remodel Under One Team
At DB Custom Properties, we only use sub-contractors for plumbing, hvac and electrical. This means all of the finish work, framing and layout is done in house thanks to our team of designers, expert carpenters, and architects. From Sketch To Walkthrough
Your architect, designer, and lead carpenter all work for us. When something needs to change on site, it gets resolved in the same building, not over a string of emails between three companies.

Our lead designer Elise works on every remodel. She sits with you, sketches with you, picks materials with you. She isn’t a salesperson handing you off after the contract is signed.

Discovery
We come to your home. We walk the existing space with you. We ask about how you use the space, who shares it, what frustrates you, and what you've seen in other homes or hotels that you've wanted in yours. No tape measures, no sales pitch. A real conversation about whether we're the right team for the project.

Design Development
Our in-house designer sits with you to develop the layout, the material palette, and the visual direction. You'll see initial sketches, then 3D renderings, then refined drawings. You're in the room for every revision.

Drawings & Selections
Our architect drafts full permit-ready plans covering structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and lighting. We engage a structural engineer for any load-bearing changes. We file permits with your township and handle the back-and-forth. You don't.

Construction
Our own crew handles demo, framing, mechanical coordination, drywall, cabinetry, tile, millwork, and finishing across every room. You have one lead carpenter as your daily point of contact. You'll get a written update at the end of every week of work, including photos and what's coming the following week.

Walkthrough & Handoff
We walk every finished room with you, build the punch list together, and don't leave until every item is resolved. You get a binder with every product spec, paint code, grout color, appliance manual, and warranty document. Then we follow up 30 days, 90 days, six months, and one year out.

Get answers before you call, from price ranges to how our design consultations are typically handled!
It depends on scope. Bathroom renovations start at $30,000 for a guest or secondary bath, and run $60,000 to $100,000+ for a primary suite. Kitchen renovations start at $75,000 for a full gut with custom millwork. Accessory remodels like finished basements, attic conversions, and garage living spaces typically start around $75,000 depending on size and finish level. Exterior renovations vary widely with square footage and material selection. Whole home renovations start at $300,000 for smaller homes and run $600,000 to $1,000,000+ on full guts with new floor plans and mechanical replacement. We give a real number after the design consultation, not before.
Both. Some of our clients hire us for a single kitchen or a single bathroom. Others come back a year later for the rest of the house. We take on single-room renovations at the same standard as our whole home work because the team is the same either way. Tell us the scope and we’ll tell you whether it’s a fit.
From signed contract to final walkthrough: bathrooms typically run 6 to 12 weeks of construction, kitchens 12 to 20 weeks, accessory remodels 10 to 18 weeks, and whole home renovations 16 to 32 weeks (longer with additions). Every project includes a design and architectural drafting phase before construction starts, ranging from 4 weeks on a single bath to 14 weeks on a full home. We schedule realistically and don’t take on more work than we can finish on time.
For single-room renovations and most accessory remodels, usually yes (with the obvious limitation of the room being unusable during the work). For full kitchen gut renovations, you can live in the house but you’ll need a temporary kitchen setup. For whole home gut renovations, no, the mechanicals are off and the walls are open. We talk through living arrangements during the design phase so you can plan around the construction window.
Yes. Our architect drafts permit-ready plans and we file with the township directly on every project, from a single bath up through a full home. We coordinate every inspection through framing, mechanical rough-in, insulation, drywall, final electrical, final plumbing, and certificate of occupancy where applicable. You don’t deal with the township. We do.
Our carpenters, designers, and architect are in-house. We use specialized subs for trades we don’t keep on staff full-time (HVAC, licensed plumbing, licensed electrical), but they’re long-term partners we’ve worked with for years, supervised by our lead carpenter on every project.
