Build A Kitchen You Love Cooking In.

You don’t need three companies to build a kitchen worth living in. You need one team that designs it, drafts it, and builds it themselves. At DB Custom Properties, our architects, in-house designers, and master carpenters work in the same building, on the same project, from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.

Why One Team Matters

Most remodeling companies are general contractors who manage the project and sub out for a designer, architect, cabinet shop, carpenter all while trying to keep everyone pointed in the same direction. Our team has in-house design and build all in one giving you an experience and level of personalization you are unlikely to find at most companies.

01

From Sketch To Walkthrough

Your architect, designer, and lead carpenter all work for us. When something needs to change on site, it gets resolved in the same building, not over a string of emails between three companies.

02

In-House Design

Our lead designer Elise works on every kitchen. She sits with you, sketches with you, picks materials with you. She isn’t a salesperson handing you off after the contract is signed.

03

Permit-Ready Plans

Every renovation goes through formal architectural drawings before we touch a wall. Structural, electrical, plumbing, lighting, ventilation. Built right means built once.

04

Expert Carpenters

The crew swinging hammers in your home works for us, on payroll, for years. They aren’t a different trade every week. They know our standards because they helped build them.

05

Truly Custom Millwork

Cabinetry, built-ins, range hoods, paneling. Built in our shop, by people we trained, to specs we drafted. Not ordered from a catalog and assembled on site.

How It Works

How We Approach Each Kitchen

1

Discovery

We come to your home. We walk the kitchen with you. We ask about how you cook, how you entertain, what you keep on the counter, what drives you crazy about the current space. No tape measures, no sales pitch. A real conversation about whether we're the right team for the project.

2

Design Development

Our in-house designer sits with you to develop the layout, the material palette, and the visual direction. You'll see initial sketches, then 3D renderings, then refined drawings. You're in the room for every revision.

3

Drawings & Selections

Our architect drafts permit-ready plans covering structural, electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and lighting. In parallel, you finalize finish selections (cabinetry, counters, tile, hardware, appliances) with our designer guiding the process.

4

Construction

Our own crew handles demo, framing, mechanicals, cabinetry installation, tile, millwork, and finishing. You have one lead carpenter as your daily point of contact. You'll get a written update at the end of every week of work.

5

Ready To Cook Walkthrough

We walk the finished kitchen with you, build the punch list together, and don't leave until every item is resolved. You get a binder with every product spec, paint code, and warranty document. Then we follow up 30 days, 90 days, and one year out.

Kitchen Features We Build

Full Gut Renovations

Demolition through final finish. Layout changes, wall removal, structural work, full mechanical replacement. The complete reset.

Cabinetry & Millwork

Inset cabinetry, paneled appliance fronts, integrated range hoods, custom built-ins, butler’s pantries, beverage centers. Built in our shop, installed by our carpenters.

Whole-Home Integrations

Most of our kitchen clients also renovate adjacent spaces: dining, family rooms, mudrooms, butler’s pantries. We can scope the work in phases or as a single project.

Where Our Team Works

We’re based in Ocean City and work throughout South Jersey’s shore and barrier island communities, if you don’t see your town listed, please give us a call as we service most of South Jersey!

Before You
Book

Get answers before you call, from price ranges to how our design consultations are typically handled!

Full gut renovations on our scale typically range from $65,000 on the lower end to $300,000+ for larger kitchens with extensive custom millwork, structural changes, or whole-home integration. The exact number depends on cabinetry style, stone selection, appliance package, and how much of the surrounding space is being touched. We give a real number after the design consultation, not before.
As involved as you want to be. Some clients want to be in every selection meeting. Others give us a direction and a budget and want to see it again when it’s done. Our designer adapts to your style. What we don’t do is hand you off to a kitchen showroom and disappear.
Our carpenters, designers, and architect are in-house. We use specialized subs for trades we don’t keep on staff full-time (HVAC, electrical, plumbing rough-in), but they’re long-term partners we’ve worked with for years, supervised by our lead carpenter on every project.
From signed contract to final walkthrough, most of our full gut renovations run 12 to 20 weeks of active construction, with 6 to 10 weeks of design and architectural drafting before that. We schedule realistically, communicate weekly, and we don’t take on more work than we can finish on time.
The reason we spend so much time on design and architectural drawings is to eliminate change orders. Most of our completed projects have zero. When something does need to change mid-build, you’ll get a written change order with the cost and timeline impact before any work proceeds. Nothing happens on a handshake.
Throughout South Jersey’s shore communities — Ocean City, Margate, Avalon, Sea Isle, Stone Harbor, Longport, Brigantine, Ventnor, and inland through Atlantic and Cape May counties. If your project is close to that footprint, ask us anyway.
